This collection began in 2005 as an optional place to make available internal project and planning reports and issue papers written primarily for an internal audience. In 2008 the library's newly formed Research and Innovative Services Department began producing investigative reports on behalf of the library and in 2010, took on editorial responsibility for this collection in the hopes of promoting access to all internal research reports conducted in the library. We find there is an interest in this type of reporting by other library professionals (outside OSU) as well. Depositing in this collection is a service to the profession as well as a means of internal communication.

Beginning in August 2010, a library realignment has distributed members of the Research and Innovative Services. For AY 2010/11, editorial responsibility for this collection and the maintenance of the OSUL Research Clearinghouse have been assigned by the OSU Libraries management group to Bonnie Avery, to whom questions may be addressed.

Ideally when a research project is completed, the full final report is provided, however, where there are outstanding IRB considerations which need to be addressed, reports may be redacted or summarized with contact information for more information.

Faculty and staff at OSU Libraries consider "Open Access" to their research and scholarship a priority. In addition to this collection you will find "Presentations and Posters (OSU Libraries)" and "Papers, Articles, and Conference Proceedings (OSU Libraries)" as separate collections.
